description
Armchair, twoor threeseater sofas and ottoman with polished chrome plated or glossy basalt, grey, light blue, green, bordeaux and ochre, or matte black enamel steel frame. Loose cushions with polyurethane foam and polyester padding or padding in feather (excluding the ottoman) with polyurethane core.
Leather or fabric upholstery. Yet another timeless classic, one that made design history.
Designed in 1928 and shown for the first time at the Salon d’automne, in Paris, in 1929, this was the archetypal armchair in that it expressed all that was new and modern about furniture, which was now beginning to be seen as “domestic equipment”.
The careful separation of the caged frame from its inner cushions are a concrete a¸rmation of the chair’s Rationalist approach. A true classic.
