VITRA: NEW FOR SPRING

New products

A more comfortable and beautiful home office, an interior wrapped in natural materials and a bit more practical desk and chairs. The new collection by Swiss brand Vitra once again magically combines aesthetics with function. And it knows how to play around, too – the newest pieces can be assembled to your liking just like Lego.

Feel Free to Lean Back

To relax or to concentrate? No needo compomise, with the Mikado Chairs collection you can do both. Inside its elegant exterior, it hides a mechanism that allows for movement. "The dynamic seat design that allows the backrest to recline is cleverly concealed within the soft padding," say British designers Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, the authors of the innovative design. The seating marvel can be configured to suit your needs and preferences – the aluminium base (in silver, mint, dark or chalk) can be finished to suit either smooth floors or carpets. Upholstery can be fabric or premium leather, both available in dozens of colours including spicy cognac or the shade avocado.

Reflecting Building Blocks. With a Shelf.

Three sizes and the same number of colour palettes. Swiss-French designer, Julie Richoz, drew inspiration from children's construction when designing the Colour Frame Mirror – its frames are made up of three possible combinations of four colours, plus a handy shelf at the front to put away keys and other essentials. It's playful, new and fresh – the creative Parisian (Julie lives and works in the metropolis) has only been working with the brand since last year.

Tale Made of Wool

Ecology to Vitra is important. The brand is always looking for ways to move its production closer to nature. With this in mind, Cento was born. A new fabric made from 100% virgin wool. Its three-dimensional structure and bouclé-style surface give it volume, and is only accentuated by natural tones. The fabric is fully recyclable and boasts the EU Ecolabel.

Eames Revival

Sustainability extends to the story of the iconic Eames Plastic Chair by the infamous design duo Charles & Ray Eames. Since the beginning of this year they have been made from recycled plastic. Specifically, from the contents of the so-called "Yellow Bag" – German yellow bags designed to collect household packaging. The environmentally friendly production method causes slight variations in colour. For example, the classic green is replaced by emerald. Another change to the classic icons has to do with their height – the Eames Contract Tables High have "grown" to a respectable 110 cm and are thus suitable as meeting or bistro tables. The Eames Stools Medium & High with their practical footrest also newly enjoy a high leg. Speaking of comfort – you can now treat yourself to a home office with the new Aluminium Chair EA 131 and EA 132 (with narrower seat) and the Soft Pad Chair EA 231. All three models have movable backs and, thanks to the absence of castors, blend elegantly into the interior without being reminiscent of the office environment.
