KONSEPTI AT DESIGNBLOK

Events

Concurrently with the launch of the 25th edition of the design and fashion show – Designblok – our exhibition 'A Journey into Lina Bo Bardi's Creativity' will open in the Konsepti's Holešovice showroom on 4 October 2023. The central theme of this year's Designblok is 'JOURNEY' which is also the main motif explored in the case of our exhibition.

The exhibition traces the creative journey of Brazilian-Italian modernist architect Lina Bo Bardi, and is organised in collaboration with the Italian brand Arper. The central object is a contemporary redesign of the iconic Bowl Chair, created under Arper in a limited edition of 500 pieces.

JUNGLE_ONE IN SUPERSTUDIO

You will also find us at Designblok alongside the Italian brand Magis. The installation, which you will have the opportunity to see in the Trade Fair Palace Superstudio, will feature the Chair One chair – an iconic product by Magis known for its aluminium construction, which was created using innovative technology previously used only in the automotive industry. Characterised by its purely geometric, almost technocratic design, Chair One is recognised in the design world for its timelessness, recognisability and uniqueness.

HOLPORT INSTALLATION BY BALANCE IS MOTION

Alongside the exhibition 'A Journey into Lina Bo Bardi's Creativity', the installation called 'Mind to Matter' by the Balance is Motion design studio will be on display in the Holport courtyard  where Konsepti is located. The installation incorporates blocks from the Ruderal modular system – a collection that the studio first presented to the public at this year's ICFF+WantedDesign Manhattan 2023 in New York.

'In the Balance is Motion-designed installation, guests can follow the conception of creative ideas. From the cosmic mass above the visitors' heads, which represents the field of collective consciousness, ideas are gradually born and crystallised. In fleeting moments, they are transformed into a physical, tangible object, firmly connected to the ground,' comments Eliška Novak Knotková from Balance is Motion on the installation.

This year's installation includes the use of Balance is Motion's Ruderal modular system. This versatile system, suitable for creating furnishings, was made from recycled concrete by Cementum specifically for the installation.

NEW PRODUCTS IN THE SHOWROOM

In addition to the installation by designer Lina Bo Bardi, we will also present brand new meeting rooms in the Pavilion O by Kettal as well as new products by Baxter, DePadova, Kartell and B&B Italia.
Another new feature of our showroom are the stained glass windows created by the Czech artist, Gisela Šabóková. A total of 5 works titled Purple Rain, Blaze, Fire, After the Fire and Torso can be found on its first floor. Gizela Šabóková works mainly with glass, metal and cast iron. Her glass work includes mainly fused objects, etched and painted stained glass. She also devotes her work to architecture and public space projects. The artist's work is included in many domestic and foreign collections, both public and private.
