Andrei Munteanu was born in Romania and studied Industrie-Design in Germany. At first he focussed on natural sciences. Later he found his artistic identity, linking various influences: Italian design, primitive art and Japanese architecture. Munteanu designed several sofas for Giorgetti, MDF Italia and JongForm. In 1998 he designs the first outdoor sofa concept for Tribù, ‘Pure Sofa’ reduces design to the essence : pure simplicity and elegance characterise this design.
